Caledonia Police Arrest Man at Gunpoint

Police arrest 37-year-old man after he reportedly loads a handgun during a family disagreement inside the home.

CALEDONIA -- Caledonia police arrested a man at gunpoint Tuesday on the 5600 block of Bradford Ave. after police say a man was arguing with a family member while armed with a loaded handgun.

Police arrested Todd Christenson, 37, and charged him with one count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct. If convicted, Christenson could face up to 90 days in jail.

According to his criminal complaint, police responded to the 5600 block of Bradford Ave. just after 5:30 p.m. on July 19 on a report that Christenson was arguing with family members and had a loaded firearm in his possession.

When police arrived, an officer drew his sidearm from its holster and approached the house from the east side. Meanwhile, two officers approached from the west with rifles drawn.

Christenson existed the house and raised his arms in the air to show that he was unarmed, police said.

According to the complaint, a disagreement took place inside the home. At one point, Christenson reportedly grabbed his handgun, loaded a magazine into the gun and held it in his right hand as he was arguing with a family member during the latter stages of the disagreement.
