Candidate Forum Will Address Local Mental Health Access, More
People with questions about mental health access in Racine County will be able to ask their legislators and candidates on the ballot.

RACINE, WI -- Voters with questions about access to mental health services in Racine County are invited to a candidate forum involving local State Assembly and State Senate candidates that will be on the Tuesday, Nov. 6 ballot.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Racine County and Wisconsin Disability Vote Coalition will be hosting a Mental Health Legislative Forum for state legislators and legislative candidates in Racine County on Monday, Oct. 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Racine YMCA – Main Street.
Wisconsin legislators and legislative candidates from Assembly Districts 62, 63, 66 and 83, and Senate Districts 21 and 22 have been invited.

Confirmed representatives and candidates thus far include: Greta Neubauer, Robin Vos, Joel Jacobsen, Lori Hawkins, Bob Wittke, and John Lehman.
Topics to be covered include: access to treatment; perspectives on expanding the mental health workforce in Wisconsin; alternatives to incarceration for people living with mental illness; youth mental health services; and insurance parity.

There will also be an opportunity for audience questions at the end of the forum, as well as members from the Voting Coalition to help with voter registration onsite prior to the November 6, 2018 election.
