Christensen Announces Re-Election Bid For Clerk Post

Racine County Clerk of Court Sam Christensen on Thursday announced his election bid for the post.

RACINE, WI — Racine County Clerk of Court Sam Christensen on Thursday announced his election bid for the post.

Christensen’s incumbency came after former Clerk of Court Rose Lee passed away suddenly in 2015. He was appointed by the Racine Circuit Court Judges to fill the rest of Lee’s term, which ends December 31.

“I’ve had the privilege serving Racine County for the last several years and I hope to continue serving in
this capacity,” Christensen said in a prepared statement. “I’ve been with this office for almost 16 years so I have a passion for the law, the courts, and what we do here."

Christensen said he's overseen the post while modernizing the courts by transitioning to a paperless, e-Filing system, adding email and text message reminders for jurors and litigants, and giving the office a social media presence.

“It’s a very exciting time to be part of the courts and to be here in Racine County. I am hopeful the voters of Racine County allow me to continue in this role. ”
