Christmas Grinch Steals Salvation Army Red Kettle
Police say a woman pretended to be a Salvation Army bell ringer before she took the red kettle - stand and all - and left in a getaway car.

RACINE COUNTY, WI — Police in Racine County say they are searching for a woman who stole a Salvation Army red kettle after she posed as a bell ringer.
According to Caledonia police, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, a woman described as about 30 years old and wearing a hooded camouflage jacket, stole a Salvation Army red kettle from the lobby of the Walgreens at Douglas Ave. and 4 Mile Road.
Police in Caledonia said the woman posed as a bell-ringer for about 30 minutes before walking off with the kettle, stand and all. The Salvation Army left the red kettle at that location unmanned. Unmanned red kettles are often a consequence of not having enough bell ringers during the campaign season, a Salvation Army official told Patch.com this holiday season.

Police also said a second person acted as a getaway driver. The person parked a dark-colored minivan in a close parking stall and left with the woman and the red kettle.
