KENOSHA, WI — The deployment of several portable toilets on a Kenosha law enforcement memorial on the Fourth of July has sparked outrage among officers and the public alike.
The Kenosha News reports that the memorial, which honors fire and police officers who had fallen in the line of duty, was lined by portable toilets, which were set atop memorial bricks and effectively blocked the view of the memorial's obelisk.

"My name, along with my husband's, are on bricks that are sitting where those portable toilets are. Every one who has a brick there devoted their lives to the city of Kenosha, and it is a slap in the face that toilets are there," retired Kenosha police officer Cindy Fredericksen told the Kenosha News. Fredericksen called the toilets "completely disrespectful."
Kim Carmichael, who helps run Happenings Magazine, the publication that aids the organization of the festivities, told the Kenosha News that the toilets will be moved next year.
