Cree Cutting Jobs in Racine Area
Citing "current business conditions," Cree said they are expecting to cut a "small number of jobs" in the Racine area.

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Cree is cutting some jobs corporate-wide, including a limited number here in the Racine area, it was announced Wednesday morning.
According to the Milwaukee Business Journal, Cree described the move as “a limited employment action.” Cree operates the former Ruud Lighting factory at 9201 Washington Ave. in Racine, where it has about 1,100 employees, according to the Milwaukee Business Journal's most recent list of largest Milwaukee-area private sector employers.
"Racine continues to be an important location for Cree, and we target further investment and hiring here," spokeswoman Laura Griffis said in an email to the Milwaukee Business Journal.

She declined to give specifics about the scope of the layoffs, stating only that they would affect a "small" number of jobs at the corporate headquarters, were in response to “current business conditions.”
