Deputies Arrest Wanted Man After High-Speed Chase on I-94

After a high-speed pursuit, the man lost control of his vehicle, resulting in an accident that shut down I-94 in Racine County.

RACINE COUNTY -- A 28-year-old Milwaukee man who had a warrant out for his arrest, couldn't outrun the Racine County Sheriff's deputies on Wednesday.

After a high-speed pursuit, the man lost control of his vehicle, resulting in an accident that shut down a significant stretch of I-94 in Racine County, according to officials.

On Wednesday Sept 14, at 10:50am a Racine County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a vehicle on I94, and when the deputy exited his squad, the vehicle sped away from the traffic stop at a high rate of speed.

The deputy pursued for a short distance but terminated the pursuit because of very high speed and traffic conditions. The vehicle was later found to have crashed on the S/B I94 County Highway KR on ramp.

According to the Racine County Sheriff's Office, the vehicle exited S/B I94 at CTH KR off ramp, failed to stop at the stop sign at the end of the off ramp and tried to reenter S/B I94 at CTH KR on ramp but lost control and crashed the vehicle.

The operator and only occupant of the vehicle was identified as Terrence Andersen a 28 year old from Milwaukee. Andersen sustained non life threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital via ambulance from the accident scene.

Andersen is being arrested by Racine County Sheriff's Office on a felony warrant from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and for a charge of “Fleeing and Eluding a Police Officer” along with several traffic violations.
