Driver Dies In Two-Semi Accident On I-41: Report

Officials said the collision tipped the parked semi-truck onto its side, and that the collision killed the driver of the moving semi-truck.

RACINE COUNTY, WI -- Authorities in Racine County are reporting that the driver of a semi-truck on I-41 died early Thursday morning after they struck another semi-truck that pulled to the side of the road for repairs.

According to the Racine County Sheriff's office, deputies responded to the area of I-41 in southern Racine County just south of Highway 11 just after 3:30 a.m. on a report of a two-vehicle accident involving two semi trucks.

When deputies arrived, they reported that the driver of a semi-truck heading north on I-41 collided with a semi-truck that had pulled over along the interstate near the Apple Hollar orchard in order to fix a flat tire.

Officials said the collision tipped the parked semi-truck onto its side, and that the collision killed the driver of the moving semi-truck. The operator of the parked semi-truck was transported to the Ascension Racine hospital with serious injuries, authorities reported.

Authorities reported that traffic heading south on I-41 was diverted off the interstate at Highway 11. Northbound I-41 traffic was diverted off the Interstate at Highway E.
