Driver Rolled Car 6 Times Before 100 MPH Crash: Report
Police in Racine County say the driver and passenger were able to walk away from the accident with minor injuries.

RACINE COUNTY, WI -- Authorities in Racine County are urging the public to be safe over Christmas after an apparent drunk driving accident resulted in a driver rolling his vehicle six times after reaching 100 miles per hour.
Authorities say that on Sunday, Dec. 23 at just before 2 a.m., officers were called to the area of Highway 20 and Highway V in the Village of Mount Pleasant on a report of a crash in which one vehicle rolled over.
Mount Pleasant police officials reported that witnesses stated that the vehicle was going about 100 miles per hour when it passed them just prior to the crash.

Officers discovered that the driver, Tonny E. Griffin, 30, Racine, was behind the wheel of a white 2017 Dodge Challenger when he lost control and entered the ditch east of the Highway V intersection. The vehicle rolled six times and knocked down multiple signs and a light pole, it came to rest near the intersection.
Police said the driver and 25-year-old passenger were both able to walk away from the accident and await South Shore Rescue. Both were transported to Ascension All Saints Hospital for treatment, and are expected to be released from medical care.

Police say Griffin was impaired, and was arrested for drunk driving and recklessly endangering safety.
