Drunk Driver Exited Freeway At Full Speed Before Crash: Report

Three men were injured when a drunk driver exited I-94 at Highway 20 at full speed, according to authorities.

RACINE COUNTY, WI — Authorities in Racine County say a 27-year-old Kenosha woman was drunk when she exited I-94 at full speed and caused a traffic accident at the Highway 20 off-ramp.

According to the Racine County Sheriff's Office, the woman, later identified as Gabriela Garcia, was behind the wheel of a 2019 Genesis G70 at about 1 a.m. Sunday. Authorities say she exited I-94 at the Highway 20 off-ramp at full freeway speeds, and struck a 2012 Hyundai in the back.

Deputies reported seeing that the Hyundai had heavy rear-end damage and was located in a grassy area east of the I-94 overpass at Highway 20.

Authorities say Garcia struck the Hyundai, causing it to careen off the road, and to spin to its final location in the field.

Three men all sustained non-life-threatening injuries due to the crash, authorities said.
