Drunk Driver Fights Deputies On Fourth Of July: Report
Sheriff's officials say the driver was found hanging half-out of his car before he ended up fighting with Deputies on-scene.

RACINE COUNTY, WI — Authorities in Racine County responded to a report of a speeder, only to find that the driver was willing to fight with officers once they were on-scene on the Fourth of July.
According to the Racine County Sheriff's office, deputies responded to a call about a reckless driver in Union Grove on the Fourth of July. Officials said a concerned citizen reported that there was a vehicle all over the road that was going about 80 miles per hour through the Village of Union Grove, and heading West.
Deputies said they responded to the area and found the driver of the vehicle, later identified as Dmitry Zellmer, stopped in the westbound lane of Highway 11 with Zellmer leaning the upper half of his body out of the vehicle. One of the responding Deputies was working a grant-funded alcohol saturation patrol took over the stop, where it was determined that he was likely intoxicated.

According to reporrts, while speaking to Zellmer, he quickly exited the vehicle and immediately became combative with the Deputies. Officials said Zellmer lunged at the Deputies and began to fight with them.
While attempting to control Zellmer, one of the Deputies sustained injuries requiring him to be treated at Ascension Racine Hospital, and was later released.
Sheriff's officials said that Zellmer was arrested and held at the Racine County Jail on suspicion of the following charges: operating while impaired - first offense, battery to a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer - causing harm, and resisting an officer.
