Drunk Driver Goes Airborne, Crashes Into House: Report

MOUNT PLEASANT, WI — Police in Mount Pleasant got a two-for-one at a crime scene early Sunday, reporting that the driver of one car went airborne before crashing into a house, and another driver drove the wrong way through the accident scene.

According to police reports, officers responded to a home on the 4600 block of Spring Street just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday on a report that a car crashed into a house.

Police say that Randy Strohkirch, 52, of Racine, was behind the wheel of his 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan speeding North on Ohio Street when he blew a red light at Spring Street.

Police say Strohkirch's vehicle struck a curb, went airborne, hit a road sign, vaulted over a guardrail, and hit a house. Officers on the scene reported determining that Strohkirch was driving under the influence of alcohol.

As police processed the scene, officers say a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Jessica Barker drove in the opposite traffic lane, and ignored the squad cars and flares that were blocking the lane of traffic.

When officers pulled her over, they determined that she was driving under the influence of marijuana, according to reports.
