Drunk U-Haul Driver Blocks I-94 Traffic Friday After Vehicle Tips Over
The operator of the truck, a 54 year old male from Chicago, was charged with his 3rd OWI offense.

RACINE COUNTY -- The driver of a truck was cited with his third drunk driving offense after the U-Haul truck he was driving overturned on westbound I-94 late Friday night.
According to the Racine County Sheriff's office, the Racine County Communications Center received a call of a U-Haul truck that had overturned on I-94 (Westbound), just North of CTH C, in the Town of Yorkville.
Deputies and Union Grove / Yorkville Fire and Rescue responded to the scene. The truck was on its side, blocking the righthand lane. A large amount of personal possessions had been thrown from the truck during the accident and covered all three lanes of traffic.

I-94 (Westbound) was temporarily shut down at STH 20, due to the accident and resulting debris, but was later reopened. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
The operator of the truck, a 54 year old male from Chicago, was taken to Wheaten Franciscan – Racine with non-life- threatening injuries. He was released from the hospital and taken to the Racine County Jail.

He was charged with Operating While Under the Influence of an Intoxicant (3 rd offence).
