Racine County Election Results: Mason Wins New Term
Racine Mayor Cory Mason keeps his seat for four more years. Here are the results from Racine County Tuesday night.

RACINE, WI — With his family at his side, Racine Mayor Cory Mason stood before the crowd gathered at the Red Onion in Downtown Racine to thank his family for their support in his re-election bid for Mayor.
Mason ran for mayor in 2017 for a special election to finish the term of the previous mayor John Dickert. Mason won with the largest share of votes in both the primary and general elections, defeating challenger Sandy Weidner to earn his spot as Mayor. On Tuesday, the longtime State Rep. won his first full term as Mayor. Although he was unopposed on the ballot, Weidner staged a last-minute write-in campaign.
"It's a resounding victory tonight so we're really excited," Mason told Patch.

Mason also told Patch that having a full four-year term is going to mean more time to cast his vision for Racine, including building up the city's middle class, supporting workforce development, promoting sustainability initiatives and continuing to nurture the city's relationship with the Foxconn Electronics Plant currently being built in Racine County.
"It's taken a good year just to learn the job, so to have four full years after having a year-and-a-half to do the work and get better at it, I feel I can really hit the ground running," Mason told Patch. "A four-year term really gives me the space to try to achieve those things on a more scalable timeline."

Hagedorn Says He's The Winner
Conservative Wisconsin Supreme Court candidate Brian Hagedorn declared victory early Wednesday morning over liberal challenger Lisa Neubauer in a race that many say is still too close to call.
As of 3 a.m., Wednesday, unofficial vote totals listed Hagedorn as having slightly less than a 5,000 vote lead over Neubauer with about 1.2 million ballots cast. If this slim margin holds, both candidates are expected to brace for a recount.
