Parents can Attend a Community Meeting to Save money on Prom Tickets

The prom and graduation season is an exciting time for many students and their families. However, all to often, underage drinking parties are hosted by parents and other adults in order to celebrate these achievements.

Wisconsin's youth drink alcohol, too much and too often with tragic short and long-term consequences. SOcial hosting encourages binge drinking, alcohol poisoning and unintentional injuries like falls or drowning.  Simply taking the keys away is not the answer. The law is simple if you purchase, pour or provide alcohol for underage drinkers you can be held liable for te resulting damages that youth incurs under state law. Homeowners' insurance policies don't extend liability coverage for illegal activities. Don't put your financial future at risk. IT'S NOT WORTH IT!

Local community leaders will share their expertise, related to possible social and health related consequences of purchasing, providing or pouring alcohol for anyone under age 21, other than their own child. A panel discussion will provide information about the dangers of underage drinking, the legal consequences of hosting underage drinking in your home and how parents and other family members can host safe and fun alcohol free events for youth.
