Recent events around the country remind us just how fragile life is and how important it is to be prepared.
Lives were saved when firefighter/EMT’s and police officers to everyday citizens who were willing to put their life on the line, sprang into action.
This Saturday, you will have any opportunity to meet our local heroes and see what type of training and equipment they use to respond to local emergencies. You will also have the opportunity to receive training in CPR and learn how you can assist in times of need.
Racine County Emergency Management is holding a Health & Safety Fair on Saturday, April 27th, 2013. The event will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in conjunction with the YMCA’s Healthy Kid Day at the SEALED AIR FAMILY YMCA located at 8501 Campus Drive Mount Pleasant, WI 53406.

The Health & Safety Fair will include indoor & outdoor booths with health, fitness, and safety information pertaining to all ages. Presentations and hands-on activities will be held throughout the day on topics that may include hands on safety demonstrations, healthy eating, heart health, fitness, fire safety, exhibits, and more…
Some of the demonstration to take place will include Air One Emergency Response Coalition Helicopter tactical team, State Troopers Convincer seat belt demo, Racine Sheriff Department Swat with their K-9 unit, Racine County Dive Team, Mount Pleasant Police Department and K-9 unit, City of Racine Police and Fire Departments, South Shore Fire Department to name a few.

The Volunteer Center of Racine has teamed up with Safe Assured-Id to bring free Safe-Assured kits to Racine Residents ages 0-18, and 55 and up through community grants. SafeAssured ID is the most comprehensive family safety program of its kind. In the event that a person goes missing, SafeAssured ID provides families with the power to deliver media and law enforcement with immediate, holistic, and ready to broadcast information unique to the missing youth.
Tour of the new Sealed Air Family YMCA and other fun activities will be available. There will be a free raffle for a EF2000 generator generously donated by Yamaha Generators, a raffle for a 6 month family membership at the YMCA and additional safety related items.
