The show begins with a couple on their wedding day and traces their life together over a period of 50 years, through the wedding night jitters, raising a family, negotiating mid-life crises, quarreling, separating and reconciling, until the day they leave their house to the next pair of newlyweds. The popular ballad "My Cup Runneth Over" came from this Broadway hit, which collected seven Tony nominations.
