About Walk to End Alzheimer's
Help to change the course of Alzheimer's disease by walking in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Since 1989, we've moblized millions of Americans in the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk; now, we ask you to register for Walk to End Alzheimer's, the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. Together we can end this disease - the nation's sixth leading cause of death.
In 2009, the local chapter of the Alzheimer's Association raised more than 500,000. In 2010 - with the help of thousands- we increased that figure to over $673,000. This effort involved over 10,000 people (4,289 Walkers backed by 5,333 Supporters and 454 Walk volunteers) combined to raise dollars and awareness, and they had fun! In 2011 we will be offering new components to our Walks, including a "Promise Garden" and an earlier start time.
Please join us in 2011 for the "Walk to End Alzheimer's", the new name chosen for the same vision and purpose, a world without Alzheimer's.
