'Every Resource' Being Used to Locate Missing Woman

Tuesday's search is part of the continuing effort to search for Lynn M. Rickard who went missing during the early morning hours on June 25.

RACINE COUNTY, WI — The search of Lynn M. Rickard continues into its second week as officials employ every means possible to find the missing 59-year-old woman.

On July 11, the Racine County Sheriff’s Office, along with members of the Milwaukee Police Department’s Mounted Unit continue to search for Lynn M Rickard -age 59. Tuesday's search is part of the continuing effort to search for Lynn M. Rickard who went missing during the early morning hours on June 25, 2017.

It is believed that Rickard is suffering from a mental illness and medical issues.

Today’s search is a continued effort by the Racine Sheriff’s Office to try and locate Lynn Rickard by using available resources, such as the Mounted Unit. Sheriff Christopher Schmaling stated, “The Racine County Sheriff's office has utilized every resource available and continues to seek closure for the Rickard family.”

According to the Racine County Sheriff's office last week Wednesday, it is believed that Lynn Rickard, 59, is suffering from a mental illness and left her residence nude. Rickard was last seen westbound walking through a field approximately one-half mile from her residence.

This search is being conducted shoulder to shoulder in the Kansasville area by approximately 130 Law Enforcement, Fire, and EMS Officials. Sheriff Christopher Schmaling said in a statement Wednesday, “we have now entered day four of our nonstop search for Lynn. Although we remain cautiously optimistic and hopeful, as every hour passes I am becoming more and more concerned about the outcome, the Racine County Sheriff's Office is committed to trying to bring some closure to Lynn Rickard's family."

According to a WISN report, as the search entered its third day Tuesday, family members offered a $10,000 reward for her return. According to a Journal Times report, drones with heat detection equipment were deployed to aid in the search of Rickard, which has reportedly expanded into Kenosha county.

Search Begins

On Sunday June 25, 2017 at approx. 9:13 a.m. the Racine County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence in the Town of Dover for a report of a missing adult. Upon arrival Sheriff deputies were advised that Lynn M. Rickard left her residence on foot in an unknown direction, possibly wearing black and white pajamas. Further investigation revealed the Rickard is possibly suffering from mental illness and is reliant oxygen.

Based on the information provided, the Racine County Sheriff’s Office has launched and extensive and ongoing search effort partnering with Union Grove / Yorkville and Kansasville fire departments. The search is currently active and the Sheriff’s Office is utilizing all available resources at our disposal to locate Rickard .

At the time of this release Rickard has not been located and Sheriff Christopher Schmaling stated “Our prayers are with the Rickard family that Lynn is safely returned to her husband John.”
