Free Ice Skating On Monument Square Until March
A new ice rink was built on Monument Square in Downtown Racine. Now people can skate for free on the ice rink from now until March. Details:
RACINE, WI — Area residents can now enjoy free ice skating every day on Monument Square from 9:00 am - 9:00 pm from January to March.
Ice skates will be available to rent on Fridays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. Skate rentals are free, but renters must provide an I.D. as collateral.
The City Council approved $15,650 in funding from hotel room tax collections to fund the purchase of the rink, materials and setup fees. According to the city, next year's cost will be just under $10,000 to set up and maintain the rink.
