The Indianapolis-based chain came to Wisconsin in 2012 in hopes of competing against other electronics stores.

WISCONSIN -- Electronics and appliance retailer HHGregg has announced it will close five stores in Wisconsin, including stores in Greenfield, Brown Deer and Racine.

The retailer also will close its stores in Grand Chute and Ashwaubenon, plus a store in Illinois.

"As a natural course of business, we regularly evaluate our real estate positions to determine when and where new store openings, relocations, or at times closings make the most sense for our customers and our company," Taylor said in the statement as reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
