Historical Walk of Mound Cemetery


Racine's Past Heroes and History brought to Life. Mound Cemetery (West Boulevard and Washington Ave - Hwy 20)  is a resting place for some of the great names that were essential for making it was it is today.  Join us on anyone of the four dates to learn more about Jerome Increase Case did before he became the founder of JI Case.   Learn the story about the assentation  attempt on one of Racine's Mayors.   Meet the Durands' and find out the role they played in the formation of Racine. All this and much more will be a part of the Historical Walking Tour of Mound Cemetery on Saturday October 20,  Saturday October 26,  Sunday October 27 and Sunday November 3rd starting at 3 pm each day.  Parking will be in the parking lot to the west of the Cemetery and use the gate on the north side of the Cemetery to enter.   The walks will be held rain or shine and will be on uneven ground so plan accordingly. The Volunteer Center of Racine County, and a special project fund for Mound Cemetery will benefit from the proceeds.  There is a portion of the funds raised will be matched through Modern Woodman Insurance.   Your tickets for this event can be purchased online at http://www.volunteercenterofracine.org/.for $25.00 in advance,  or $30.00 on the day of the event.  Ticket sales is limited to 100 per day, so buy your tickets early.  Additionally you will see a Downtown Walking Ghost Tour  posted online and purchase of both tickets will give you an additional discount. If you have any questions,  please contact The Volunteer Center of Racine at 262-886-9612.
