Man Accused Of Racing Before Hit And Run With Pedestrian: Complaint
A man charged in connection with a hit and run in Mount Pleasant is accused of racing before the crash, according to a criminal complaint.

MOUNT PLEASANT, WI — A Kenosha man who was charged in connection with a hit and run that left a person injured in Mount Pleasant on Saturday is accused of racing before the crash, according to a criminal complaint filed in Racine County Court.
Christopher Castillo Moreno, 23, is facing charges of hit and run and 2nd-degree reckless injury in connection with the crash, online court records show. The person who was hit in the 800 block of Newman Road was left bleeding, and was sent to the hospital via Flight For Life, the complaint says. Moreno turned himself in after the crash, according to the complaint.
A witness in the complaint says they saw a car hit the victim and drive away, while two other witnesses said they saw vehicles racing, or two vehicles "drag racing" and a loud exhaust before the victim was hit.

A passenger in the suspected car said he saw the people on the road, and that he told the driver to "look out," according to the complaint. He told police he then heard a loud smash, and after leaving the scene they eventually pulled over, where the driver got out to survey damage and clean blood away, the complaint says.
The passenger told police the driver was racing another vehicle, going southbound in northbound lanes, before the crash happened, according to the complaint.

Doorbell footage obtained by officers shows the car stopping after the crash, about a mile from the scene. Two men get out of the vehicle and look at the bumper, but the passenger flees and the driver gets back into the vehicle, according to the criminal complaint.
