Ironman 70.3 Triathlon Skipping Racine in 2018
The Ironman 70.3 Triathlon is skipping Racine in 2018, for reasons including declining sign-ups, bad roads and a new event in Madison.
RACINE, WI — The Ironman 70.3 Triathlon will not be returning to Racine in 2018.
That news was announced this week by Real Racine, Racine County's tourism bureau.
According to media reports, declining sign-ups, bad weather, poor roads, and the addition of an Ironman 70.3 Triathlon in Madison were all factors that led to the demise of Racine's event, which had been active at North Beach every summer since 2010.
