Jail Guard Allegedly Touched Employee's Butt In Front Of Inmates
The 22-year employee of the Lake County Sheriff's Office has been charged with battery.

WAUKEGAN, IL — A Kenosha man employed as a corrections officer at the Lake County Jail was charged with battery for allegedly inappropriately touching a women who worked there, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office. Darin Chansky, 49, of the 2800 block of 55th Avenue, allegedly made a sexual gesture toward an employee of Aramark Food Service inside the jail in December 2017. Then, in January 2018, she reported that he touched her buttocks.
Both incidents were in the presence of correctional inmates, according to the sheriff's office, which said it was notified of an incident on Jan. 24.
Chansky was placed on administrative leave with pay and a criminal investigation was launched. The sheriff's office said he will remain on leave until the end of an ongoing administrative investigation.

Police interviewed all parties involved before prosecutors reviewed the case and approved an arrest warrant Feb. 23.
Chansky, a 22-year veteran of the sheriff's office, turned himself in with a lawyer Monday, according to a news release. His next court hearing has been set for March 5 in Waukegan.
