Jean's Jazz And A Comedy Of Tenors At RTG

'A Comedy Of Tenors' will open at Racine Theatre Guild on Friday, February 23rd.

MOUNT PLEASANT-STURTEVANT, WI - From Racine Theatre Guild: The Racine Theatre Guild’s (RTG) production of “A Comedy of Tenors” brings a whole new meaning to the phrase “the show must go on” from Friday, February 23 – Sunday, March 11.

In this sequel to "Lend Me a Tenor," Saunders is desperate to coordinator a concert with the best voices on the planet, if they don’t try to kill each other first. Over-the- top Italian tenor, Tito thinks his wife, Maria, is cheating on him with Carlo, a rival tenor, and backs out of the concert. When the bellhop, Beppo, is discovered to be Tito’s doppelgänger and a brilliant singer, mistaken identities and bedroom hijinks ensue for a madcap delight. Add in a long-suffering assistant, strong-willed daughter, and ex-lover soprano, it is a frenzy of a farce promising an evening of sheer joy.

Written by Ken Ludwig and directed by Douglas Instenes, the cast will feature familiar faces from the RTG’s 2016 production of “Lend Me a Tenor:” Paul Weir as Saunders, Shannon Thill as Maria, Davidson Kane as Tito, and Christie Burgess-Martino as a new character, Racón. Other cast members include Malcolm Jae O’Shea as Max, Jenna Zeihen as Mimi, and Alex Benitez as Carlo. While the audience is sure to enjoy a great performance, some adult humor may not be suitable for younger patrons.
