Kenosha Co. Sheriff's Department Assists With ATF Investigation

Deputies were called in to assist ATF agents with taking a suspect into custody as part of a planned operation, a department spokesman said.

KENOSHA, WI ­ - The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department confirmed it assisted Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agents with an investigation at a Sam’s Club parking lot on Wednesday, but indicated the move was planned to assist take a suspect into custody.

A department spokesman told Patch Wednesday afternoon that the investigation support was a planned meeting and that the parking lot was merely a pre-arranged meeting spot to assist with the arrest.

The spokesman said there was no activity at the store that necessitated the presence of local law enforcement officers, but instead was a planned event to assist agents from the ATF’s Chicago bureau.
