Man With $1,000-A-Week Marijuana Habit Goes On Rampage When Out of Pot

A man with a $1,000 a week marijuana habit became so enraged he was out of pot, that he was arrested after going on a rampage in his home.

MOUNT PLEASANT, WI — Police say that a man with a $1,000 a week marijuana habit became so enraged he was out of pot, that he had to be arrested after going on a rampage in his own home.

On May 21, Mount Pleasant police officers responded to the 2000 block of Racine Street in Mount Pleasant on a disorderly conduct report.

According to the criminal complaint filed in Racine County, Daniel Diaz reportedly threatened to kill himself, the woman he was living with as well as her pets when he learned he did not have any marijuana to smoke.

His criminal complaint stated that he rampaged throughout the couple's shared residence, throwing things, making a mess and at one point picking up a wooden baseball bat and striking the floor.

At one point, the criminal complaint stated that Diaz wanted to hit her over the head with the bat, and that eventually after striking the floor enough times, the wooden bat broke.

Diaz reportedly spent his entire paycheck each week to support his marijuana habit, resulting in the loss of their couple's prior home, the criminal complaint stated.

Diaz is currently in the Racine County Jail.
