Man With 4 Pounds Of Pot Tried Telling Cops He Just Had 'Joint'

When police stopped a Chicago man for a traffic violation, he tried convincing officers he just had "one joint," authorities said.

RACINE COUNTY, WI -- A 26-year-old Chicago Man was arrested with more than four pounds of marijuana after authorities say the man tried to convince officers that all he had was a single joint in his possession.

According to Mount Pleasant police officials, an officer on patrol on Highway 31 stopped a vehicle driven by Evan Fendley, 26, Chicago, for an apparent traffic violation on Monday, just after 11 a.m.

Reports indicated that officers walked up to Fendley's vehicle. At that point, officers say Fendley showed officers that he had a joint. When officers investigated further, they determined that Fendley had four plastic bags of marijuana inside the car totaling 4.35 pounds, according to reports.

Mount Pleasant police said Fendley also had three cell phones in his possession. Officers arrested Fendley on suspicion of possession with intent to deliver THC and is awaiting formal charging, according to an official release from the Mount Pleasant Police Department.
