Man Accused Of Hit And Run Crash, Walking Away: Report
A criminal complaint said the man crashed into another car in Mount Pleasant on Saturday and tried to walk away, The Journal Times reported.
MOUNT PLEASANT, WI — A Racine man is accused of crashing into another car and attempting to leave the scene near Green Bay Road and Spring Street on Saturday, according to a report by The Journal Times.
Douglas E. Rinden, 35, of Racine, was charged in Racine County Court on Monday with hit and run, operating while revoked, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing an officer, and 12 counts of bail jumping, according to online court records.
Two people in the car that was hit told police the crash caused them to hit a pole with their vehicle, the Journal Times report said citing a criminal complaint. According to the complaint, Rinden attempted to walk away after the crash and when he was confronted by officers he claimed someone else was driving, although nobody else appeared to be in the car, the Journal Times report said.
