Man Breaks Into, Vandalizes Primrose Apartments

According to authorities, there was heavy smoke at the Primrose Assisted Living Apartments in the hallway.

MOUNT PLEASANT, WI — A Racine man was arrested after a foot chase after the 21-year-old broke into and vandalized an assisted living center in Mount Pleasant early Monday.

On Monday, July 31, just before 4:30 a.m., the Mount Pleasant Police Department responded with the South Shore Fire Department to the 1700 Block of North Newman Road in the Village of Mount Pleasant.

According to authorities, there was heavy smoke at the Primrose Assisted Living Apartments in the hallway.

When police arrived, they observed a male who tried to flee on foot from the scene. A short foot pursuit ensued and a man was caught and detained. He was identified as 21 year old Deion McMorris of Racine.

Upon further Investigation it was determined that McMorris, using a rock, broke the Western glass door of the complex, gained illegal entry, and removed a Fire Extinguisher and sprayed the contents out throughout the hallway.

He then exited with the extinguisher and sprayed a parked car. He wrote words on the car and discarded the extinguisher on the ground.

This matter remains under further Investigation as it may be possible that McMorris is involved in another Incident of Vandalism within the Village
of Mount Pleasant previously in the early morning hours.
