Man Fell 7 Stories Down Elevator Shaft To His Death: Report

Authorities say 32-year-old Anthony D. Azarian, of Racine, died in a demolition accident in Milwaukee on Monday.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Authorities say 32-year-old Anthony D. Azarian, of Racine, died in a demolition accident in Milwaukee on Monday afternoon.

According to police, Azarian was working on a forklift during a demolition project for Azarian Wrecking in the 3700 block of W. Wisconsin Ave. at just before 2 p.m. Monday.

According to a Journal Times report, Azarian was operating a skid steer to pull on a wall when the wall gave way. Azarian and the skid steer then fell seven stories down an elevator shaft. He died instantly, the report stated.

“Everybody is in shock. My family is in mourning,” said Sam Azarian, Anthony’s brother, in a FOX-6 report.
