Man Overdoses on Heroin at Buffalo Wild Wings; Drug Deal Went Down There

A man is accused of selling heroin to a user while at Buffalo Wild Wings, only to have the man pass out in the bathroom from a drug overdose

RACINE, WI — A Racine man has been jailed and charged after selling heroin to a man while at Buffalo Wild Wings - only to have the man pass out in the bathroom of a drug overdose. Police arrived and had to revive the man with NARCAN.

On Feb. 10, Mount Pleasant police responded to the Buffalo Wild Wings at 5880 Durand Ave. in Racine on a report of a heroin overdose call. Upon arrival, a man was found incoherent and unresponsive in the bathroom.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Racine County, first responders acted quickly, administering a dose of NARCAN - an anti-drug-overdose drug carried by police and rescue workers - which revived the man. Police interviewed the man, who stated that he purchased heroin from a friend named "Josh" who lives on Luedtke Ave.

The man was shown a photo array and identified "Josh" as Josh Hudy, 26, of Racine. The man stated that Hudy sold him the heroin while at Buffalo Wild Wings, the complaint stated.

When police reviewed the man's cell phone, it revealed text messages supporting the fact that the drug deal went down while they were at Buffalo Wild Wings, according to the criminal complaint.

According to police, on Feb. 15, police officers executed a search warrant at Hudy's address. They found a small bindle of cocaine in the living room area, several hundred needles and syringes, a dozen cotton balls, cooking cups, tourniquets, smoking pipes, scales and grinders.

The complaint also stated that officers also located numerous NARCAN kits during the search. According to the report, other residents that were in the building - but not implicated - stated that Hudy is an addict and is "weaning himself."

Hudy has been arrested and is facing multiple criminal charges including first degree recklessly endangering safety, manufacturing and delivery of heroin, possession of cocaine, narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

As of Feb. 16, Hudy was held in the Racine County Jail on a $25,000 cash bond.
