Man Who Rammed Police Car Twice Is At Large: Police

Police say that a man who was pulled over rammed a squad car twice to get away.

RACINE COUNTY, WI — A suspect is at large after police say he fled a traffic stop in Caledonia, but not before ramming a squad car twice to get away.

Caledonia Police say they conducted a traffic stop on a black Nissan sedan Saturday on an unspecified violation just after 1 a.m. in the 5800 block of Douglas Ave., just north of the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Caledonia police say that as officers began to approach the vehicle, the operator of the vehicle, Gary Booker, 37, Racine, backed into the squad and began to drive away. A pursuit began and at one point in the pursuit, police say Booker intentionally struck the squad a second time.

Police say Booker eventually stopped and ran from the vehicle, and managed to elude police. Police are reporting that he is not yet in custody. The officers were not injured.

Caledonia was assisted by the Racine Police Department, Racine Sheriff’s Office and the Wind Point Police Department.
