Police responded to the scene around 5:30 p.m. on the report of the missing boy, who was there with a care giver and several other children, including his brother and sister, police said in a press release. They secured the exit of the park and began searching.
A patron at the park, who was assisting with the search, spotted the boy under the water near the pier. Dive team members retrieved the boy and gave him CPR. He was transported to Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington, but, sadly, he did not survive.
