The complaint states that Tate held Mackay's face in the water for approximately five minutes. Her cause of death is reportedly from strangulation.
The complaint stated that Cook and Tate put Mackay's body into a trash bag after dragging her body back to the car - one bag was put around her feet, another around her head They drove to a wooded area in Racine County to dump her body.
After initially not knowing where to put Mackay's body, they drove to what they thought was a remote area in Mount Pleasant. The location, they said, was among weeds and bushes "where they thought noone would find her."
Mackay's body was found by authorities the following day after she failed to show up for her job at McDonald's.
According to the criminal complaint, police were able to track Tate and Cook after they attempted to sell Mackay's car on Facebook.
