Missing Michigan Woman Found Dead In Wisconsin: Report

KENOSHA, WI -- Amanda Hanover, the missing 39-year-old woman from Michigan who went missing presumably in Wisconsin has been found dead in Kenosha, authorities say.

The Kenosha Police Department found her car near 101 56th Street, also known as the Fisherman's Circle, in the City of Kenosha last week and had asked the public for help in trying to track her down. A cell phone was located in her vehicle.

On Monday, Kenosha police announced that Hanover had been found dead. Police say her body was found in the water near the Lake Michigan shoreline in the 6600 block of 3rd Ave.

The area where Hanover's body was found has a rocky shore with Lake Michigan. A pedestrian path extends along a green space that connects the Kemper Center to the north with the Anderson Arts Center and a residential neighborhood to the southwest.

The Kenosha County Medical Examiner's office determined it was Hanover's body.

"My heart goes out to Amanda Hanover's family," said Lt. James Beller of the Kenosha Police department, in a Detroit Free Press article. "This is never an easy time."

Police say she was last seen by family members on Monday, March 18, in Michigan and has no known ties to the Kenosha area. Police say the neighboring Pleasant Prairie Police Department assisted with an aerial drone search of the lake front and has yet to find her.
