Mount Pleasant Foundry To Close, 40 Workers To Lose Jobs

This week, Real Alloy Holding, Inc. of Ohio announced that they're closing the Mount Pleasant plant.

MOUNT PLEASANT, WI — If you've ever visited Menard's or Goodwill in Mount Pleasant, you may have heard the sounds of Real Alloy employees hard at work.

Real Alloy, 7505 Durand Ave. is a company that melts scrap aluminum and alloys, and sells them to different companies.

This week, Real Alloy Holding, Inc. of Ohio announced that they're closing the Mount Pleasant plant, resulting in the loss of 40 area jobs.

According to company officials, Real Alloy announced that it will cease operations at its Mt Pleasant facility, which was acquired from Beck Aluminum at the end of 2016.

Real Alloy expects to utilize available production capacity in nearby Indiana and Michigan facilities, and feels that shutting down the facility allows the business to better utilize production capacity and reduce overall capital needs, according to company officials.
