Target in Mount Pleasant will hold National Night Out from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, in the Target Parking Lot at Seaside Farms.
The National Night Out is a crime/drug prevention program sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch. The program involves citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, neighborhood organizations and local officials. It is designed to heighten crime and drug awareness; generate support for and participation in local anti-crime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized.
The event is free.
