Racine's North Beach Park Makes Top 10 In Family-Friendly U.S. Beaches
Racine's North Beach placed in the top 10 of family-friendly beaches in the U.S., adding to its credentials as a true destination.

RACINE, WI — North Beach Park was recently rated in the top 10 for beaches in the United States that are family friendly. The Family Vacation Critic website posted the list which mostly includes beaches on the U.S. coasts, but two lake beaches made the list: North Beach here in Racine and Weirs Beach in New Hampshire and North.
USA Today's Best Freshwater Beaches Top 10 put North Beach at No. 4 on the list. It boasts "fifty acres along 2,500 feet of shoreline are a delightful summer playground for visitors, who flock here for the impressive space, which affords families room to spread out and enjoy time playing in the sand and splashy fun in its cooling, shallow waters," according to the list.
The City of Racine says "nationally known expert Dr. Stephen Leatherman, nicknamed 'Dr. Beach", honorably mentioned North Beach as being the most improved Great Lakes Beach." Zoo Beach is just to the north, which borders the Racine Zoo.

A tripadvisor.com review by Marcia R, of Racine, said "North Beach is a beautiful spot with clean sand beach and family friendly enjoyment, During the season lifeguards are on duty and it is a safe environment. Music on weekends, a wonderful spot! Snack bar, changing rooms, really nice!"
Another reviewer, Margaret F, likened the North Beach to its southern counterparts. "You'd think you took a wrong turn and ended up in Florida; palm trees, finely groomed sand, music, hammocks, concession stand, volleyball courts, large playground. Try it to believe it," the review said.
