Pavement-Breaking News: Highway MM To Close

If you've bounced and scuttled your way down MM in the past - you'll be subject to detours - and a much better road when they're done.

RACINE COUNTY, WI — Racine County Highway MM (North Green Bay Road) from State Highway 31 (Ole Davidson Road) to State Highway 38 (Northwestern Avenue) will close to all through traffic beginning Wednesday, April 11, 2018, for a reconstruction project.

A detour will be posted for Highway MM traffic to use Highways 31 and 38. Motorists should schedule additional time to drive the detour route. Access to businesses and homes in and around the project will be maintained throughout construction.

The intersection of Highway MM with Highway 38 and Old Mill Road will be reconstructed and realigned as part of the project. During construction, Highway 38 will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Expect delays on Highway 38 at the Highway MM intersection.

The construction project will last about seven months. Road construction is expected to be completed in November 2018, though the construction schedule is weather dependent and subject to change.

The $4 million project will be paid for with a combination of federal, state, and local transportation funds. The primary contractor for the reconstruction project is Cornerstone Pavers USA from Racine.
