Phony Foxconn Contractors Burglarize House: Police

The suspects will often pretend to be a utility worker of some type and try to gain entry into the house or have the homeowner come outside.

MOUNT PLEASANT, WI — Authorities in Mount Pleasant are warning the public after a home located near the Foxconn electronics plant site was burglarized by men claiming to be Foxconn contractors.
9100 block of County Line Rd (Hwy KR) advising there house had been burglarized.

A Mount Pleasant Police Officer responded to a home on the 9100 block of County Line Road, on a report of a burglary. According to police, at about 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, a man came to the house, claiming that he was a contractor working for Foxconn, and had hit a water pipe.

According to police, the suspect told the homeowner that he needed to check the water lines in her home. The homeowner allowed the man and a second man into the home. Police say the two suspects distracted the homeowners, and while doing so, two other men entered the residence.
It was found later by the homeowners that the bedroom had been gone through and money and jewelry had been taken. The suspects left in a cream colored SUV.

Mount Pleasant Police Department are warning the public that the area has seen an increase in this type of crime. The suspects will often pretend to be a utility worker of some type and try to gain entry into the house or have the homeowner come out side. As the suspect distracts the homeowner others enter the home and take money and small items of value. The Mount Pleasant Police Department asks residents to be vigilant and not let anyone into their residence they do not know.
