Photo of the Day for May 17: A Real 'Quack-Pot'

A Real "Quack-Pot" Dawn Wolf sent us this photo of a mother duck who decided to build her nest in a flower pot on the porch of her Racine-area home. Here is what Dawn has to say about her lovely photos:

"Mama duck decided to make our flower pot it's new nursery. She laid one batch but I think the cold got them, so she came back and laid 5 more. This time she sat on them day and night without leaving them until some hot days near their birthday. We gave her food (what we thought she might like, seeds and such, most of it pushed around, or added to her bedding; hence the weeds growing in her bed!) and water. On the day of their birth, I caught the last of them in the nest, the other 4 and mama waiting patiently down below the upper deck. As I approached, it jumped off the table and "plop" right over the ledge to the expecting family below, and off they waddled to the pond.
