Physical Therapy and Rehab Specialists of Kenosha Welcomes New Athletic Trainer to the Team; Matt Winans, LAT Brings Extensive Injury Prevention Experience to the Community

Physical Therapy and Rehab Specialists of Kenosha (PTRS) is proud to welcome a new Athletic Trainer to their family of talent and offer additional methods for the community’s sports medicine and return-to-work rehabilitation needs. The staff is excited to announce Matt Winans, LAT, a local resident of Kenosha, has joined the team.

Matt, originally a native of Hartford, WI, has spent the last 7 years working in the Kenosha community as an athletic trainer at the St. Joseph and Indian Trails high schools. Within this role, he acted as a first responder to injuries and performed skin fold body fat analysis testing for wrestling athletes. Matt received his Bachelors in Athletic Training with a minor in Safety and Health Protection from the University of Wisconsin: Stevens Point. Through his education and experience, Matt holds a strong understanding of sports injuries, as well as OSHA standards, work conditioning programs and workplace safety/ergonomics.

Matt’s clinical interests lie in sports injuries, concussion testing and management, and preventive programs in the workplace. His treatment philosophy is to push his patients to their highest level, but never further than they are comfortable with. Matt comes prepared to every treatment session with a high energy and focus level, so he can help return his patients back to where they were prior to injury. His overall goal is to ensure his patients have the confidence to get back into the game or job, and the tools and knowledge to avoid re-injury.
