'Christmas Vacation' RV Towed By Wisconsin Cops
"Apparently Cousin Eddie or maybe Walt and Jessie left this fine piece of Detroit steel along Northwestern Avenue," police said.

CALEDONIA, WI — Police in Caledonia want to know who owns an otherwise abandoned recreational vehicle that was found on Northwestern Ave.
Officers also had a little fun while asking for the public's help:
"Apparently Cousin Eddie or maybe Walt and Jessie left this fine piece of Detroit steel along Northwestern Avenue between 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. today. It's being removed by Michel's Towing and will be held there for the owner. If you happen to see who was towing it, please give me a call at 835-4423," an officer who goes by "Sgt. G" posted on the department's Facebook page.

Caledonia Police are referring, of course, to the 1980s and 90s-era National Lampoon Vacation movies. A recurring theme throughout the movie series is "Cousin Eddie" and his family's run-down recreational vehicle. "Eddie," who is played by actor Randy Quaid, continually vexes the family of "Clark Griswold," played by actor Chevy Chase, by showing up at inopportune times.
