Police Officer Injured, Dragged by Stolen Vehicle - 4 Teens Arrested

Stolen vehicle and suspects who were arrested may be part of ongoing crime wave at Racine-area car dealerships.

MILWAUKEE -- A Milwaukee police officer was reportedly struck and dragged by a stolen car driven by a teen after the car was reported stolen from a Sturtevant, Wis. car dealership earlier this month.

According to a report by the Journal Sentinel, the stolen car was spotted by officers just after 6 p.m. on the 3100 block of N. 74th St. When officer attempted to stop the car, four teens jumped from the vehicle which began to roll backward.

The police officer, 51, tried to stop the car to prevent injury to others, but lost his balance and was dragged by the vehicle until it struck a pole, the Journal Sentinel has reported.

Police arrested two 17-year-old boys and two girls, ages 15 and 16, who fled from the stolen car.

According to a report from the Racine County Eye, the Sturtevant Hyundai dealership had been burglarized early Wednesday morning - the fourth dealership heist in recent weeks.

According to their report, the alleged car thieves fled to Milwaukee after police terminated a high-speed pursuit due to safety concerns.

Prior to the news out of Milwaukee regarding the four teens who were arrested Wednesday afternoon, Sturtevant police had confirmed that at least one person was arrested and brought back to Racine to face charges, the Racine County Eye reported.
