Police Tase 17-Year-Old Involved In Fight: Report

As he moved away from officers to avoid arrest, he drifted into traffic lanes on Highway 31, police said.

MOUNT PLEASANT, WI -- Police in Mount Pleasant say they needed to deploy a taser on a 17-year-old Racine resident after an incident on Highway 31 early Monday.

According to Mount Pleasant police, officers responded to a report of four people fighting in the parking lot of an apartment complex on S. Green Bay Road just north of the Kinzie Ave. intersection. Officers said the driver of a vehicle fled the scene after the fight. It was stopped by police moments later on Highway 31, police said.

Police said that a passenger of that vehicle, later identified as 17-year-old Traziyan Wadlington, of Racine, resisted arrest. In order for officers to safely take Wadlington into custody, a taser deployment was necessary, police said.
