Racine Children’s Theater kicks off 86th Season

RACINE, WI -- The Racine Theatre Guild is hosting their 88th season of the Racine Children's Theatre, with four shows, including Disney's Aladdin, Jr. which kicks off the season this October.
Tickets can be purchased from the Racine Theatre Guild located at 2519 Northwestern Ave., Racine. Call (262) 633-4218, visit www.racinetheatre.org, or stop by the box office weekdays from 12 to 6 p.m. and 90 minutes prior to each performance for tickets.
Disney’s Aladdin, Jr.
October 5 – 7, 2018

Aladdin and his three friends, Babkak, Omar, and Kassim, are down on their luck until Aladdin
discovers a magic lamp and the Genie who has the power to grant three wishes.
Wanting to earn the respect of the Princess Jasmine, Aladdin embarks on an adventure that will
test his will and his moral character. With expanded characters, new songs, and more thrills, this
new adaptation of the beloved story will open up “a whole new world” for young audiences.
The Elves and the Shoemaker: The Musical
Nov. 9 – 11, 2018
Lockhart Cobblestone, the shoemaker, has a kind heart but little money in his pocket. Moved by
the plight of an old beggar woman, he gives her his last pair of shoes. Poor Lockhart only has
enough leather to make one more pair of shoes and sets it out to work on the next morning. Then,
the fun begins!
Out pop five weird, endearing little elves who whip up the most fantastic and magical shoes the
town of Clankbottom has ever seen. This musical retelling of an old favorite is filled with
delightful characters and also holds a gentle message about the nature of kindness.

Junie B. Jones: The Musical
Feb. 1 - 3, 2019
It’s Junie B.’s first day of first grade, and a lot of things have changed for her: Junie’s friend,
Lucille, doesn’t want to be her best pal anymore and, on the bus, Junie B. makes friends with the
new kid at school. Also, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard and her teacher thinks she may
need glasses.
Throw in a friendly cafeteria lady, a kickball tournament and a “Top-Secret Personal Beeswax
Journal,” and first grade has never been more exciting. Featuring a tremendously loveable
character and fun-filled songs this show will capture hearts just as the books captivated an entire
generation!
The Emperor’s New Clothes: The Musical
March 15 – 17, 2019
Laugh your socks off in this fairy-tale pop musical with eclectic styles ranging from 50s rock to
20s jazz to Celtic and more! The kingdom of Glump has been falling apart ever since the
pampered emperor became wrapped up in his tasteless wardrobe.
Enter two con artists, Wart and Hog, who devise their ingenious plan for swindling the emperor
into wearing a new kind of cloth, only visible to those worthy enough. Naturally, everyone
pretends to ’see’ the magic cloth, until a young child’s honesty forces the emperor to face the
truth about himself and his clothing!
