OAK CREEK, WI -- Oak Creek police cited a Racine County Sheriff's deputy for driving while impaired, according to reports. A Racine Journal Times report states that Oak Creek officers pulled over deputy Jesse Danek on March 19. He was in uniform and investigators reportedly learned that he smelled of alcohol at the traffic stop.

“Deputy Danek has a noncriminal forfeiture matter pending in Oak Creek Municipal Court and, therefore, has not been placed on leave.” Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling said in a statement to the Journal Times. “Once that matter has been adjudicated, our office will determine whether internal sanctions are appropriate.”
