An equipment arrival delay has prompted the Racine Unified School District to postpone the timing of relocating its server from Spring Break until summer.
The server, which handles the district’s computer and telephone systems, was to have been moved from the Administrative Service Center, 2220 Northwestern Ave., to the new district office site at 3037 Mount Pleasant St. during the Spring Break holiday, April 22-29. But, a late arrival of the server racks left the district information systems team concerned that the changeover might not be completed in time, said Stacy Tapp, district spokesperson.
“They just didn’t want to take any risk, so it was decided to go with Option B, which is doing it over the summer,” she said.

Tapp said the server will now be moved during the July 4 weekend, but the delay will not affect the district’s planned move to the Mount Pleasant Street site, which is to be completed in August.
The Administrative Service Center will be closed to the public during Spring Break and reopens Monday, May 2.
